Memo on

DONALD J. TRUMP,

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,

ET AL. v. ASHTON ORR, ET AL.

+Assignment

During my internship with Congressman Mike Quigley, I was tasked with drafting a policy memo analyzing the court case Donald J. Trump v. Ashton Orr, which challenges the administration's passport policy regarding gender markers.

+Approach

I conducted a detailed review of the legal proceedings and judicial opinions. I took extensive notes on the arguments presented by both the ACLU and the administration, focusing on the constitutional claims regarding the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses.

+Result

I wrote an in-depth memo on the case, highlighting the most important takeaways for the Congressman's office. The document outlines how the Supreme Court's stay on the injunction allows the current policy to proceed, identifies the immediate legal and social implications for the transgender community, and offers a strategic look at how this will shape federal identification standards in the future.
